I noticed a tourist and an elderly gentleman looking quite distressed as they realized they didn't have umbrellas for the walk to their next connection.
Since I was heading home and had a spare umbrella in my bag, I handed it to the gentleman. I also realized my 24-hour ZVV travel pass still had several hours of validity left but I wouldn't be using it again today. I tucked the pass into a protected sleeve at the tram stop with a note in German and English: "Gute Fahrt! / Have a nice trip! - Already paid for, please use." It’s a small Swiss tradition to pass on still-valid tickets, and seeing the relief on their faces as they stayed dry made the rainy afternoon feel much brighter.
This is so sweet! Keep doing this please
